A short story on Chaplain AL Kolades:
1939-2016

Allen Julius Kolodziejczyk was born in to his Polish parents

Isabella and Julian. They raised their only child in a Catholic Church environment in Allegheny Pennsylvania until he was 20.

At the age of 20 he served in the Air Force in Japan decoding enemy codes then returning to his home he married Lillian his school sweetheart and changed his name to Kolades. Allen wanted to make his own way my working for himself selling various products and putting together a band playing his trumpet and his xylophone.

He with wife Lillian and the band traveled from coast to coast, selling his wares and playing his music for several years, at last coming to Miami where they all settled down Allen got steady work selling cookware and his band got a full time gig at a club in the city.

It was one day Allen was selling in his assigned area in the city that he was challenged by an elderly lady. She told him she would buy his cookware if he would come to her church on Sunday. Well Allen thinking this will be a good sale he attended her church that Sunday and there he fell to his knees and excepted Jesus as his Savior that very morning .The same Sunday evening he took Lillian with him for his baptism and she excepted Christ and was baptized there also.

This new found life with Christ slowly changed their lifestyle .No more clubs no more band and now Allen was playing his music in their new church.

After a few years he felt he must go further in his faith so he and Lillian sold their home, their boat and one car in Miami. In the other car they drove to Dothan Alabama where Allen attended and studied at Bethany Bible College. Lillian in great support ,worked at the telephone company and in the college library. As Allen was still studying he also was offered a position leading music and a choir in the local church.

When he was finished with his studies and had a completed his certificate as a minister and Chaplain he was still serving in many churches from 1994 to 2000. When offered a position as a minister to a church in Lakeland, they returned in 2000 and settled in central Florida. He wanted to be a minister and to set up his own business .So he and Lillian sold on the markets and he ministered on the weekend.

Time had passed selling on diffident markets ,when they decided to settle in one place, Market World Auburndale ..Also Chaplain Al had always desired to have his own church. So in Market World he started Christian Community Mission which held a Sunday service at 8AM and is still holding that service every Sunday with our new Pastor Gene Miller..

Sadly Lillian was taken to heaven after suffering four years with Alzheimer’s decease. We still have her angel on our prayer page..

Allen remarried in Sept 25, 2006 to Bonnie. Together they had a mission shop and the church. There was as many as 300 that gave their lives to Christ in their church and in their mission shop. Some of them have gone on to begin their own ministries in Florida, up North and. California.

Chaplain Al and Bonnie decided to sell the shop in 2015 when he was diagnosed with lung cancer; sadly Chaplain Al went to be with the Lord Aug 21, 2016.

Bonnie sold their home and returned to Spain and with the family, where Allen had always desired to minister and serve Christ.

Praise God, now with this website she is full filling his wishes.
